Fun with Numbers and Shapes
Classes: 1 Date: 1 August 2025
The students of Class 1 participated in the Mathematics Inter-House CCA Competition conducted on Friday, 01 August 2025. The Mathematics CCA was conducted in two engaging and creative rounds, designed to integrate art with mathematical concepts.
In the preliminary round, each student participated enthusiastically by drawing animals using numbers and colouring them imaginatively. This round showcased their creativity and understanding of number shapes.
The final round, held on 1st August 2025, saw selected students from each house take on a hands-on challenge where they designed animals using cut-outs of basic geometric shapes. In addition to the activity, participants were also asked simple questions related to shapes—testing their understanding of names, properties, and recognition of basic shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.
This integrated approach not only strengthened their mathematical concepts but also nurtured mathematical thinking in a fun and artistic way, encouraging both imagination and concept application among young learners.
